I was only able to use it again under one condition - if I format the external hard drive, or in other words, delete every single file on there and start from scratch. After looking it up, I found out how to make Windows 10 "recognize" it again, but Onto my external HD once I either need to free up space or am done with a video for YouTube and don't necessarily need the clips on my laptop anymore, but still want to keep as a backup.Īfter this big awful Windows 10 update/upgrade, I've realized that the icon for my external hard drive wouldn't show up in the "My Computer" window after I've plugged it in. I've been working on a show for YouTube which is mainly comprised of recorded clips from a computer game, and these clips take up a lot of space on my laptop, so I would transfer them I have an external hard drive that is capable of holding up to 465 GB.
